ӰPro (NMJC) celebrates the Director of Automation & Industrial Systems, Jerry Morris, for being recognized as the 2025 CTE Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year by the New Mexico chapter of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). Morris, who has been with ӰPro for 10 years, played a pivotal role in launching and expanding the Automation & Industrial Systems program. “The program grew slowly in the first seven years, but now it has taken off and is growing rapidly,” said Morris.

With the upcoming opening of the new Industrial Training Center (ITC) building and additional areas of study being proposed, he anticipates continued growth. ӰPro Vice President for Workforce Development, Steve Sauceda, expressed appreciation for Morris’s leadership, stating, “The automation department has seen tremendous growth over the past year and a half, and I appreciate Jerry and his team for leading that charge. ӰPro was proud to have Jerry Morris be named a Fellow for the New Mexico chapter of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) last year and I am thrilled that he was recognized as the 2025 CTE Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year.”
